How It Works

Like the internet itself, VR is too large an undertaking to be safely or efficiently developed by any single organization. Instead, individuals and organizations worldwide will use public blockchains along with other protocols and standards to serve as a point of exchange for common information, and as a means of giving appropriate control and privacy to individuals and content or experience developers. The VRBA will serve as a meeting place and forum for the organizations developing this technology. |

Projects
The VRBA is working on numerous initiatives. Typically these fall into technical projects about interoperability, such as the transfer of digital assets across the metaverse, and policy projects to create an agreed set of principles for governance. A few of the projects are highlighted below:
Enable avatars and objects to move between virtual worldsPeople using VR need a standard way to present their name and appearance, without giving up privacy or needing to re-establish identity at each new location.
